The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Associate Director of Business Development to join our team at ApplyBoard. The primary focus of this role is to identify, engage, and sign on new educational institutions, create innovative programs, and drive initiatives to increase enrollments to our institution partners. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in expanding our network of partner institutions and enhancing our program offerings, ultimately contributing to ApplyBoard’s growth and success.

What you’ll be doing everyday:

  • Identify and Acquire New Partner Institutions: Research and identify potential educational institutions for partnership based on strategic criteria. Initiate contact with prospective partners, conduct presentations, and negotiate partnership agreements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless onboarding and integration of new partners.
  • Develop and Implement New Programs: Work closely with partner institutions to understand their needs and preferences. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and develop innovative academic programs tailored to meet market demand and partner goals. Ensure program compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Develop strategies to upsell and expand existing relationships with partner institutions. Identify opportunities for additional program offerings or enhancements that align with partner objectives.

What you bring to the table:

  • 7+ years’ experience in sales to educational institutions and an established network within Canada
  • Proven experience in partner development, business development, or sales within the education industry.
  • Entrepreneurial passion for building something new and exciting.
  • Experience prospecting, qualifying, and cold-calling required.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter who is proactive, and dependable
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle objections
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Strong English writing skills with keen attention to spelling and grammar
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent sales and presentation skills
  • Aptitude for prioritizing tasks with a high attention to detail to ensure information accuracy
