ACCOUNTING CLERK:

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible for preparing and processing bills, invoices, accounts payable and receivable, budgets and other financial records according to established procedures within the Woodstock facility.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Responsible for full cycle Accounts Payable process (matching receipts, updating A/P, and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L, and steel vendor reconciliation and A/P/supplier issues, process cheques as required)
• Responsible for full cycle Accounts Receivable process (Invoicing, Cash Application, resolving collections issues, and reconciling G/L and sub-ledger)
• Prepare weekly Accounts Receivable aging report and distribute to management and collect actively outstanding payments
• Assist during month end and year end: journal entries, accruals, inter-company reconciliations
• Ensure all purchase orders and service contracts received are accurate and in accordance with Purchasing Policy
• Responsible for procurement of MRO (create purchase order based on requisition submitted by buyer)
• Prepare ad-hoc reports for controller and assistant controller including expenditure summary etc.
• Support on internal and external audits and address any related audit queries
• Prepare bank deposits/wire transfer and make payment for government remittances (WSIB, HST, etc.)
• Maintain accounting filing system
• Coach and mentor junior personnel

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Diploma or certification in Accounting or Finance program
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Between 3 to 5 years working in an accounting role
• Familiarity with AS400 and CMS400 accounting system is preferred
• Proficient with MC Office products including Advanced Excel
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail is required
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills including the ability to effectively prioritize
• High level of integrity
