This role will report to the Senior Construction Coordinator

Summary: Pick up and deliver job materials and supplies to and from vendors, lumber yards and customer job sites. Assist Construction Managers, Construction Coordinators, and Lead Carpenters with deliveries, organization, and labor activities in the production/construction area as needed.

Scope of Work:

• Picking up construction-related materials from local stores per material lists provided.

• Having a good idea of construction materials is useful.

• Understanding purchase order protocols.

• Laisse with vendors, subcontractors, carpenters, and clients as required via phone call.

• Checking voicemail and email as required.

• Garbage removals from various interior and exterior job sites. Including removing demolished decks, and construction debris.

• Site clean-ups upon job completion.

• Archadeck – Ensuring no debris around the client’s property from construction.

• Case – Broom clean finish, vacuum, remove garbage or any left-over materials as required.

• Should be comfortable lifting at least 55 pounds. This job includes labor-intensive activities, including lifting bags of concrete, drywall, and lumber (possible large quantities on some occasions).

• Keeping inventory materials stocked and managing the stock.

• Color matching and profile matching of site samples, for examples trims, paints, and siding.

• Keep up on your vehicle’s inspections, maintenance, and cleanliness.

• General organization of storage unit and basement. Ensuring all client deliveries are labeled accordingly and make it to storage to be organized per job.

• Receiving and checking in tile deliveries as required.

• Look out for job signs not placed on active in construction jobs and coordinate with the project manager or coordinator if one can be installed.

• Aid in demolition as required.

• Picking hardware in the basement per lists provided by the coordinator.

• Installing floor and dust protection as required.

• Refilling office water cooler bottles as required.

• Renting tools and equipment (scaffolding), as required, and transporting to site.

• Comfortable driving a large vehicle in town and out of town.

• Comfortable learning and using new apps. Two main systems to be used on a daily basis from your phone.

• Any other daily duties as required.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and or 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• First Aid and WHIMIS training.

Language Skills:

• Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, co-workers, suppliers, or subcontractors.
• Ability to present information and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, subcontractors, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to solve practical problems and challenges where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to successfully communicate those solutions to fellow workers

Equipment Operation:

• License to operate a company vehicle including large vans and trucks.
• Clean criminal and driver’s check.

Physical Demands:

• The employee is frequently required to lift and carry up to 55 lbs. of products and materials.
• The employee is frequently required to crawl, bend and stoop, and frequently required to drive up to a 40-mile radius from the office to clients’ homes and company facilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
