Human Resources Assistant – Atlantic Road Construction & Paving
Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in heavy civil excavation and flatworks, pipeline placement, concrete placement and asphalt paving. This summer we are looking to add an energetic & self motivated Human Resources Assistant to assist with the full scope of HR within a growing company. The HR Assistant will support HR operations through the full cycle recruitment process, assisting with hiring, onboarding, NSNP Applications & social media strategy. The successful candidate will have an aptitude for customer service, organization & meeting deadlines to help the organization achieve optimal staffing levels through various channels.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Create & refresh job posts for various positions.
- Post jobs through an Applicant Tracking System.
- Review resumes & identify talent for positions with varying skill levels.
- Learn how to identify transferrable skills possessed by candidates.
- Conduct preliminary screening phone calls & interviews.
- Act as a liaison between candidates and management.
- Check candidate references when applicable.
- Assist with onboarding new hires to the organization.
- Assist with Nova Scotia Nominee Program applications for foreign workers.
- Attend job fairs and other recruiting events.
- Utilize social media to enhance employer branding.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education with a focus on business administration/HR currently in process.
- Minimum 1 year working in a customer service position.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
- A valid drivers license and reliable personal transportation.
- Demonstrated reliability & punctuality.
- Experience recruiting considered an asset.
