Argo Lumber is currently looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support the Finance Department.
Accounts Payable:
- Review bills for completeness and accuracy in accordance with the Payables Approval Procedures before a cheque is issued
- Prepare and submit cheques for approval
- Investigate any A/P issues in a timely fashion
- Monitor all payments on payroll and supplier invoices to ensure they are processed on time
- Reconcile bank account balances on a daily and monthly basis against statements
- Reconcile inter-company statements and billing codes
- Administer, distribute and reimburse petty cash
General Accounting & Admin:
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing
- Make daily and monthly bank deposits
- Setup new customer and supplier accounts
- Maintain all supplier files with invoices and payment records for the fiscal period
Payroll:
- Backup for bi-weekly payroll process
- Balance payroll to General Ledger
- Prepare and reconcile payroll remittance
- Assist in yearly T4 preparation
- Assist with employee pension and benefit plans
- Prepare and reconcile ETD, EHT, WSIB, and AD&D
Other Duties:
- Assist Accounting Department as needed during vacation or absence of other employees
- Any other duties assigned by the controller based on the workload or the organizational needs
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field of study
- 5+ years’ Accounting/Accounts Payable experience
- Strong computer software skills
- Familiarity with an ERP system (GP & BISTrack) will be considered as an asset

Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
