Hey, we’re Article. We’re an online furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. And as the Business Analyst – Logistics, you’ll have the chance to make an immediate impact on Article’s logistics strategies (i.e. getting our furniture to our customers in an efficient way). Given the complexity of our logistics network, we need you to have previous experience in logistics and/or supply chain management.
Why We Need You:
The Logistics Business Analyst will be dedicated 75% to Transportation Analytics ( domestic linehaul and international freight) and will be responsible for developing, building, and maintaining KPIs for the function and providing recommendations for improvements based on analysis. They will also support the build and maintenance of central Logistics data – Phew, those are some fancy words!
In simple terms:
In your first 3-4 months you will map out the full end-to-end process of our logistics network (This means from the starting point at our international manufacturing partners to our Home Delivery services dropping off a customer’s order in North America).
Your main goal with this project will be to understand the nuances of Articles Logistics Networks and look for opportunities in which we can become more efficient. From there you will look at building performance packs for business stakeholders.
Lastly, you’ll start digging into our logistics data (and we have a ton of it); you’ll need to be someone who loves to deep dive into data (Using SQL) and tell a story to the stakeholders with the goal of showing where we improve and save money on current deficiencies. In other words, your work has a huge impact on Article’s bottom line.

This role can be located remotely anywhere in North America
Travel requirements:
At least once a year visit one of our distribution facilities
Visit the Vancouver office (Open to discussion)
What You’ll Do:
Develop comprehensive & accurate visibility of our Logistics processes and performance
Build metrics & visualizations and conduct analysis to identify, and help the business understand, risks and opportunities within our Logistics function.
Define and analyze the operational efficiency of Article’s Transportation execution, working with the ocean, air freight, cross-the-border, and line haul teams
Proactively design and lead innovations for systems and processes from the data work stream, in partnership with wider Supply Chain and Data Science teams. Partner with leadership and specialists cross-functionally (including tech, customer care, finance, quality assurance, creative designers, marketing, and IT) to ensure alignment on key initiatives and projects and to support the delivery of successful change initiatives
Influence peers to get the results needed to move a project forward
Think critically, question the norm, and have a bias for action
Who You Are:
3+ years of professional experience in logistics and/or supply chain management
Experience in North American transport and logistics network strategy
Understanding of Logistics (ocean, road, rail and air) processes and terminologies
Excels in turning complex data into easily digestible insights
Demonstrated experience influencing data-driven change within a cross functional Supply Chain operation
Ability to analyze multiple sources of data to draw comprehensive insight, with experience in simulation modeling
Ability to formulate data strategies and process design for a variety of stakeholders
Open to flexing hours to accommodate calls with our global teams
Advanced user of MS Office and/or Google Suite
Familiarity with SQL and wanting to level up to an expert level
International logistics experience is a plus
Familiarity with BI visualization tools (Microsoft BI/ Tableau) is a plus
Network & Distribution Strategy a plus
Lane Analysis and Capacity planning is a plus
