Description
Hi there, we’re Article. 👋 We’re an online furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. As the Photo Editor / Photographer, you’ll be editing studio photography which consists of still life white background and in-room photography (75%) you will also have the opportunity to photograph in our studio when team bandwidth requires it (25%).
In partnership with the photo team, you’ll work closely with the photography and video manager to Senior editor and create beautiful imagery that inspires our customers and helps them visualize what Article products could look like in their spaces.

This role is a hybrid position that will require you to be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.

What You’ll Do
- Sustaining the speedy and efficient editing of our constant stream of studio photography.
- Adhering to our best practices and applying them to various editing and photography needs.
- You are an integral part of the team that manages the photo file naming, tagging, and storing.
- Maintaining and organizing raw and processed files to enable quick access and a well-managed archive.
- Contributing to the overall product discussion; openness to corrections and adjustments made necessary by customer feedback.
- Coordinating with our Product team on retouching tasks and adjustments.
- When needed, accurately and efficiently photograph products in our in-house studio.
- Work with our studio production manager to adhere to production deadlines and schedules.
Who You Are
- 2+ years experience in technical image processing.
- 2+ years of experience in studio photography.
- Experience with product and still-life photography is essential.
- Experience using and organizing files on internal servers — including tagging and uploading files to our digital asset management (DAM) system.
- Proficiency in Capture one and Adobe Creative Suite, specifically with Photoshop processes such as product cutouts, colour matching, retouching, compositing, and color reproduction.
- In-depth understanding and sensitivity to material color and variations in color tonality expected.
- Sensitivity to and knowledge of product proportions and scale.
- Must be able to use a non-destructive editing workflow.
- Excellent Knowledge and understanding of studio lighting for product photography.
- Has worked within a collaborative creative environment.
- You should demonstrate a high level of detail and accuracy within your work.
