Our client in the Road Construction Industry is looking for an Accountant/ Bookkeeper to join their team in GTA. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Process Accounts receivable/payable
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions.
- Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Reconciliation of entries into accounting system
- Maintain the trial balance, by a reconciliation of general ledgers.
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
- Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
- Perform partial checks of the posting process.
- Enter data, maintain records.
- Maintaining and matching the expenses for Company Visas and fuel cards
- Filing all documentation
- Perform expense analysis as needed
- Obtain utility locates for construction project and distribute to project teams on timely basis
- Complete Payroll processing
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements And Qualifications
- College / University degree in Accounting.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable and payroll processing.
- Previous experience working with QuickBooks
- Candidate must speak fluent English
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Must have at least intermediate skills set with MS Office programs
- Good Customer service and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
