Description: The Assembly of First Nations is seeking an experienced, skilled, and motivated individual who, reporting to the Director, HR, will be responsible for carrying out various human resource functions. The HR Department is a partnership with the Assembly of First Nation’s (AFN’s) operations/management team to manage the employee life cycle (e.g., recruitment and staffing, onboarding and orientation, training & development, retention, offboarding employees, etc.). The HR Generalist will provide support to the Human Resources sector and Director, HR. They will be responsible for supporting and advising managers and employees on various human resources functions such as Employee Relations, Performance Management, Recruitment, Disability Leave Management, Health and Safety, Human Resources Information System (HRIS), and Payroll. The HR Generalist provides support and advice to managers and employees by interpreting the HR Policy Manual and verifying its application, and best practices, that align with the administration of Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs.
