Responsibilities include the following:
Acting as Project Engineer, working as part of a team with a mix of senior and junior staff, and following applicable design guides and standards.
Coordinating technicians and designers to ensure that contract drawings are accurately prepared and checked
Preparing written technical reports including but not limited to feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, and design criteria reports.
Performing construction administration/inspection.
Performing Project Management tasks including communications with clients, managing schedules, budgets and reporting requirements.
Achieving budget compliance on assigned engineering projects to ensure financial objectives are met or exceeded.
Participating in marketing strategies and business development with clients and proposal preparation to procure business.
Communicating effectively and clearly; both verbally and in writing with clients.
Coordinating sub-consultants’ activity on projects.
Executing projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices.
Job Requirements:
What you will bring:
An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
Professional licensing with APEGA as a P.Eng., or P.L.(Eng) or eligible for licensing
8+ years of civil design or construction experience in Alberta.
Experience in transportation design, municipal infrastructure and/or land development is an asset.
Proficiency in the use of Civil 3D.
Experience with spreadsheets and related computer software for civil design.
Working knowledge of MS Office suite software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with both internal and external clients.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, technical skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Committed team player and ability to work independently.
Ability to travel within Alberta.
