Job Description:
We on the lookout for a talented Junior Software Developer to join our team. This position can be based out of our Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, or Victoria office.

You will participate in the design and development of software products to support our consulting engineers in their work with our clients. You will join a dynamic team of individuals in an environment where your feedback and input contribute to a positive atmosphere. You will also have the opportunity to develop your career based on your personal growth objectives. The software development team is focused on developing products that support the company’s business capabilities and ultimately, help the company gain a competitive advantage.

Our primary technology stack includes modern web tech (React/Next.js), .NET, SQL Server and Elasticsearch. We also support certain legacy products built on a Java back end (CentOS, Apache/Tomcat).

Job Requirements: *
What you bring: *

• Working on an undergraduate degree from an accredited post-secondary institution
• Demonstrated experience with the following:
• Writing clean, readable, and refactorable code
• Writing and reviewing user stories, requirements, and design documents for new features
• Writing test scenarios and automated tests based on the use case and requirements.
• Writing functional, stress, and performance test cases
• Executing manual and automated tests
• Serving as an advocate for quality, enterprise-grade software products
• Developing web applications and distributed systems
• Performing other duties such as data wrangling, cloud infrastructure (Azure), service architecture, clean code, and dev ops

• Ability to understand business capabilities across multiple disciplines and build software products to support them
• Ability to work independently while staying connected to the team
• Ability to change rapidly and deal with change easily
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong focus on technical excellence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a willingness to communicate directly with the people using your products
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills
• Ability to alter direction when presented with new relevant information
• Ability to support and communicate your recommendations with confidence yet align with overall team direction where necessary
