Job Description:
SUMMARY OF DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Business Insights Analyst, you will:
• Apply understanding of respective business strategies to produce relevant and substantial data analysis to support business goals and objectives
• Develop analysis to illustrate business trends and identify areas of business opportunities
• Produce insights and recommend business actions to align with strategy and/or solve business problems
• Provide seasoned specialized knowledge, advice and/or mentorship to various business and working partners
• Represent functional area as an analytics & insights professional and key resource; build positive and productive working partnerships
• Act as a bridge to translate business requirements to analytics and reporting needs for a given domain
• Work closely with business partners to gain deep understanding of the business and relevant objectives in order to guide the strategic direction of respective business and/or the enterprise
• Execute on data requests accurately and within a timely manner and provide day-to-day support and delivery of analytics
• Work independently as the senior analyst/subject matter expert and may coach and educate others
• Considered an authority within a given area
• Oversee and/or independently perform tasks from end to end
• Build understanding of cloud infrastructure and advanced analytics capabilities
• Act as a lead for the project team in providing guidance on both technical matters as well as the business context of the analytical problems. Work autonomously as well as acting as a lead within a specialized business management function and provide work direction to others
• Serve as an authority on a given business domain and provide business expertise to place context around analytics discovery and inform recommendations
• Ensure team collaboration with partners on business problems/issues and provide fact-based analytical advice that aligns to strategy and drives shareholder value
• Formulate relevant and significant data analysis through comprehensive data engineering and profiling tools
• Lead on the interpretation of complex business issues, generate multifaceted insights and find opportunities to help effective risk management in the business
• Build insights solutions end to end (from initial demand to results/recommendation presentation) ranging in complexity.
MUST HAVE:
1. 5+ Experience in business or financial reporting/business insights and analysis development, is knowledgeable and savvy with new technology and tools preferably within the global financial services and back-office operations
2. Experience working in Agile environment
3. 5+ Hands-on experience in using business intelligence, analytics and/or data visualization tools (ex: Tableau)
4. 2+ Experience with Python, Databricks
5. 5+ years SQL
6. Strong team player who fosters and thrives in an environment of peer development and sharing
7. Strong analytically-anchored problem-solving skills – a logical and strategic thinker with strong critical reasoning skills, proactively identifies risks and issues, recommends solutions, challenges the status quo
