Aston Carter Looking for Investment Processing Opportunity at Mississauga, ON Full Time

Our client, a leading financial services firm in Mississauga, ON, is looking for an operations specialist to join their team to process trade processing, reconciliation and control, transfer and deposit processing as well as insurance processing for 800+ Canadian branches.

The opportunity is hybrid in Mississauga, ON! (3 days in office, 2 days WFH).

Must Have’s:

1) Banking/Financial Services back-office/operations experience

• ideally 1 year+ following processes, working through issues, looking for process improvements (not just customer service)

2) Microsoft Excel (testing may be required)

• Needs to be proficient with reading, manipulating and adding data, Pivot table, lookups. VBA, macros, Power BI are a strong nice to have

3) Strong Verbal and Written Communication skills

• only English required

Job Details:

Joinging the Payment Operations team, – facilitate cash movements into and out of the firm via various platforms (ie. Wires, EFT, BillPay, Cheques) as well as some other loans functions such as margin calls, unfilled trades and debit processing.

Responsibility Summary

• Will be performing in office job functions such as cheque issuance, deposit, return mail, adhoc document retrieval and mail services.
• As well will perform processing functions such as bill pay, Debits processing, incoming wires, as well as cheque validations.
• Candidate will utilize macros, excel, salesforce, Broadridge, and remote services.
• Candidate must also be able to display a strong sense of critical thinking along with excellent communication skills both verbal and written as they are required to interact with branches, technology groups and various other departments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Related industry courses are an asset but not required: examples CSC, IFIC mutual fund course etc.
• 1-2 years’ experience in an operations/processing position in the brokerage, banking or financial services industries is strongly preferred
• Experience in banking or brokerage.
• Familiarity with Investment Products such as Mutual Funds, Equities, Fixed Income, Insurance, etc.
• Familiarity with Operations Processing.
• Process improvement experience or certifications.
• Potential for greater responsibility, learning more complex work functions, leadership, etc.
