Aston Carter Looking for Junior Accountant at British Columbia Full Time

Description:

Aston Carter’s client is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team. This individual will be based out of the Vancouver Corporate office, reporting to the Manager, Corporate Reporting. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the accounting and management reporting for one of the clients specific entities.

The Junior Accountant will be required to:

• Assist the Accounting Team with accounting functions, management reporting and ensuring controls are in place and operating efficiently and effectively;

• Prepare and post journal entries and accruals;

• Support the Accounting Team with month-end, quarterly and year-end accounting close processes;

• Participate in financial accounting projects;

• Assist with internal and external audits and reviews; and

• Perform other miscellaneous projects as needed, including trouble-shooting, streamlining the accounting function and cross training with other accountants

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Have:

• Accounting degree or diploma

• 1 – 2 years of experience within accounting (AP, journal entries, POs, AP, AR and Bank Recs)

• Experience with a med-large ERP

• Excel (Sum ifs, standard functions)

• Excellent verbal and written communication

Nice to Have:

MGP – Sales System

Soft Skills:

• Function as a part of the team

• Engaged and learning as much as they can.
