Leader Name: Senior Manager, SSU Finance
Reporting to the Senior Manager, SSU Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst provides financial support and advice to an assigned area of the business, specifically Risk. The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the delivery of accurate, timely and comprehensive financial reporting information and insight that assists the business in maximizing their financial performance. The Senior Financial Analyst will gain valuable experience in financial reporting and analysis and experience with data management, journal entries, cost center management, data visualizations and presentations.
Accountabilities:
Prepare and analyze month-end results ensuring accuracy of financial information and management reports.
Provide insight to business partners on the financial impacts of critical decisions and the drivers of the financial results.
Prepare and maintain the models and templates required to support the development of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
Challenge business partners’ assumptions and value drivers and present alternate assumptions.
Ensure accounting standards and financial controls are met through adherence to IFRS and compliance with enterprise policies as they apply to the financial operations of the business.
Seek opportunities to improve and enhance finance operations including systems, processes and practices; formulates recommendations and assists with change initiatives as required.
Support the SSU with projects, day-to-day financial needs and other responsibilities as required.
Work as a valuable member of the SSU Finance team to meet the needs of our partners and our deadlines collectively.
Requirements
As the ideal candidate you possess:
Business Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Accounting or financial designation is preferred.
5 years related experience
Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities; deep, recognized expertise in analyzing, interpreting and applying information about key operational drivers.
In-depth knowledge of accounting & finance practices including IFRS.
Proficient in Excel, Google Applications, such as Docs, Slides, Sheets and accounting system functionality; SAP experience desirable.
Critical thinker that can see the big picture and the why behind the numbers.
Continuous improvement and digital mindset – willing to learn, dig in, look for ways to continually improve and automate.
