We are looking for a Supervisor, General Accounting to join us in the exciting work we do in General Accounting Team. Reporting to the Manager, General Accounting – Corporate & Non-Regulated, it’ll be your responsibility to oversee financial accounting functions. In this position, you also get to develop and implement processes to expedite consistent, accurate and timely financial closes as well as meaningful management reporting.

What You Get To Do:

• Accounting
  
• Oversee and co-ordinate accounting functions;
• Review accounting transactions, reconciliations and supporting working papers to validate accuracy of financial information;
• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reports related to the entities, including Audit Packs, FR’s and variance analysis.
• GL Financial Close
  
• Oversee the monthly close;
• Ensure all accruals and journals are recorded in a timely and accurate manner to facilitate GL close;
• Act as a key liaison and support for internal and external auditors.
• Supervision
  
• Mentor and coach more junior finance team members seeking appropriate training and development opportunities;
• Supervise accounting staff including hiring, terminating, distributing workload and assigning tasks;
• Perform performance reviews and promptly address performance issues as needed;
• Encourage continues improvement.
• Inspire others to be their best;
• Enthusiastic and genuinely care about the team;

• Demonstrate and champion customer service, promoting a customer centric focus;
• Establish and nurture relationships with customers;
• Commitment to continuous improvement and identify related process change enablers;

Who You Are:

• Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Commerce or Business with major in Accounting is preferred
• CPA Designation is required
• Minimum 5 years’ experience post CPA designation in a financial management environment, is preferred
• Supervisory experience is required
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Proven ability to identify problems and facilitate resolutions
• Strong ability to relate well with people at all levels and works effectively in a team environment
• Experience with enterprise financial system, preferably Oracle Fusion
• Highly organized, meets tight deadlines, produce high quality, and accurate work with minimal direct supervision
