What You’ll Do:
The Finance and Administration Specialist will be responsible for preparing and maintaining ATN’s budgets, finances, reporting requirements, and coordinating the organization’s administrative needs. Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
- completing the day-to-day full accounting cycle, including monthly account reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable, government tax remittances, and CRA tax receipts;
- Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and legislative standards, regulations, and systems of internal control;
- Supporting the preparation of departmental and organizational budgets and forecasts;
- Producing monthly balance sheets, income statements, and budget variance analyses;
- Managing all payroll functions, including the administration of benefits and RRSP programs;
- Working on special finance-related projects as they come up;
- Supporting the grantmaking process.
What Experience You Bring:
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the full-cycle accounting process, financial analysis, and government reporting within the Charitable/Non-profit sector.
You will possess a post-secondary degree/diploma in accounting plus have a minimum of three (3) years of bookkeeping and administration experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Intermediate to advances level Excel and proficiency with Word and Outlook
- Experience using Sage or other accounting software
- Flexible, adaptable, and willing to roll up sleeves to get the job done in a very team-oriented culture
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, committed to quality, detail and results-oriented
