Coordinate customs functions of incoming shipments and coordinate outgoing courier packages and shipments.
Job Description
Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and processes on all North American and offshore import and export transactions.
Provide in-house guidance/knowledge on classification, HS tariff codes and NAFTA.
Interpret logistics provider/shipment data for cost and process improvements. Summarize and present findings.
Create, generate and maintain supply chain metrics to include monthly reports for performance, freight and duty expenditures, carrier usage, etc.
Select, contract and execute cost effective and timely transportation requirements and prepare appropriate customs documentation and shipping information.
Perform freight invoice audit, resolve discrepancies and ensure rate schedules are current.
Interact with ATS sites/departments, logistics providers, customers and vendors on customs and transportation issues.
Reconcile commercial documentation with purchase orders and resolve discrepancies prior to customs entry.
Support post entry activity such as duty drawbacks and summary invoice audit and processing.
The incumbent will also perform other duties as required.
Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
Qualifications
Education:
A post-secondary diploma in logistics or equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of logistics experience.
CCS, CITT or PLOG certification preferred.
Strong computer skills using MS Office, particularly Excel. Working knowledge of SAP or JDE is a definite asset.
Knowledge in customs operations, laws and regulations, HS system and NAFTA.
Ability to work across functions and departments in order to achieve optimal process efficiencies.
Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills with exacting attention to detail and proven ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication, negotiation and team building skills.
