ATS Scientific Looking for Finance & Operations Analyst at Burlington, ON Full Time

Opportunity Overview

ATS Scientific is currently looking to fill the role of Finance & Operations Analyst. This position provides an opportunity for growth in a dynamic, expanding company.

The Finance & Operations Analyst is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the duties as detailed below and will align themselves with ATS’ core mission by helping to maintain critical aspects of the company’s day-to-day workflow and operations to ensure its continued growth. This position is critical in helping to run the company’s day-to-day operations.

Requirements/Competencies/Qualifications

Academic Training:

• Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in business, accounting, finance or related discipline required

Work Experience:

• 3+ years experience in a Business Analyst – Operations & Finance role or other relevant position (operations, finance, accounting, etc.); preferably with some accounting software/ERP experience

Competencies:

• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and particularly Excel)

· Experience with accounting software or an ERP system is considered an asset

· Experience with logistics, supply chain, freight and customs brokerage is considered an asset

· Experience with RFP processes or government bid procedures is considered an asset

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including a high level of professionalism

• Experienced in effectively coordinating multiple projects, executing multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently, while working with conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving problems independently
• Winning customer service attitude
• General understanding of scientific and laboratory equipment industry would be an asset

Major Responsibilities:

· Assisting with operational, administrative, and financial aspects of ATS Scientific’s day-to-day operations

· Assisting with general finance and accounting tasks:

• Use of company accounting software (general journal entries, ad hoc reporting, etc.)
• Coding instrumentation/product orders prior to processing orders

· First point of contact and responsible for management of logistics:

• Confirming product orders are complete prior to shipping
• Freight costing
• Point of contact with our customs brokerage (Livingston International) and third-party freight/shipping partners
• Export documentation
• Annual reviews and customs audits

· Being responsible for certain corporate governance and compliance tasks:

• WSIB, ECB, EHT reporting
• Ensure Transport Canada requirements are met
• IATA paperwork for dangerous shipments
• Trusted Supplier partnership documents are up-to-date (Avetta)
• Assisting with ISO audits

• Assisting the sales department with the preparation of formal bid documents and RFP documents
• First point of contact for certain recurring customer accounts (reordering supplies)
• Some customer service work will be required
• Other additional responsibilities and duties, as required
