Avenu Properties Corporation is a real estate investment and management firm based in Toronto, Ontario. The firm actively owns and operates real estate assets from greenfield developments to stable income-producing properties. Present holdings include ongoing residential development, land parcels for primary and secondary homes, office/retail, and other commercial real estate across the GTA.
We are looking for a highly proactive and self-motivated individual, with a passion for the real estate business and a desire to learn and grow within the industry. You take pride in collaborating with others, both inside and outside of the organization, to tackle problems and seize opportunities to continuously improve the efficiency and success of our business.
About the role
This is a unique opportunity for you to work with an agile, multi-disciplinary team, where you will learn and contribute to every aspect of operating and managing commercial real estate assets. Reporting directly to the manager of our office and retail portfolio, you will gain exposure to all levels of the organization and will play a role in meeting key members of our industry-leading external partners. What Will You Do
In this role, you will be assisting the asset manager of our one million sq. ft. office and retail portfolio. This will require you to:
- Support with daily administrative tasks, including expenditure approval requests, reconciling project and lease data in Smartsheet, keeping records of key meetings, and coordinating with external parties.
- Deal with requests from our property management team related to documentation, expenditure approvals, and operational issues.
- Monitor and keep records on the progress of capital and construction projects to ensure real-time tracking of timelines and budgets.
- Provide input and implement systems to improve operational efficiency through refining our record-keeping and reporting.
- Attend and represent the company in meetings with our property management team, listing brokerage, and other external vendors and partners.
- Leverage your creativity and collaboration skills to contribute to the strategic vision of our assets.
What You Need to Succeed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple tasks while ensuring excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, quickly adapting to new challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to creatively solve a variety of problems, even when encountering them for the first time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and an ability to learn new software tools.
