We are currently seeking a full time Corporate Controller to join our finance team in our Toronto office. You will Lead and motivate the accounting team for a portfolio of companies, recruit, select and develop an exceptional accounting team. You will also manage AP/AR processing in our accounting system and be responsible for completing payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role is based in Toronto and reports directly to the controller and Chief Financial Officer.
ON-SITE, TORONTO OFFICE
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
· Oversight of all day-to-day accounting including AP/AR, job cost accounting, payroll, cash flow management, budgeting , Work-In-Process reporting, General Ledger maintenance and control of assets
· Month-end reconciliations and close procedures to prepare accurate monthly financial reporting on a timely basis
· Maintain account policies and procedures and a system of internal controls
· Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
· Management of company overhead expenses and reporting
· Work with management and accounting team to ensure clients are billed accurately and on a timely basis and that receivables are monitored and collected on a timely basis
· Prepare estimate to actual analysis
· Tracking vs KPIs
· Comply with local, provincial and federal government reporting and tax filings
· Communicating effectively and working collaboratively with leadership team and staff across different departments
· Preparation and review of year-end working papers for the external accountants and tax advisors
· Development and improvement of the systems within the accounting department.
· Analysis of capital investment decisions for proposed expenditures
· Support interactions with key relationships, including suppliers, clients, vendors
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting/Finance
· CPA designation or equivalent experience
· 3-5 years in an Accounting Manager or Controller position
· Extremely organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize important tasks
· Deadline-oriented with a strong attention to detail
· Knowledge Netsuite would be an asset
· Working knowledge of payroll processes
· Must be proficient in Office 365 with strong knowledge of MS Office
· Excellent written and verbal communication
