Job Description
Truck and Coach Mechanic
The Truck and Coach Mechanic is required to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy trucks.
Job Duties
- Repair and adjust hydraulic pumps, safety valves, and any other necessary mechanical components.
- Inspect, repair and adjust gasoline and diesel-powered units.
- Diagnose defects in heavy duty equipment.
- Repair cooling, and lubrication systems
- Installation of new and added-on equipment.
- Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Install and align engines and machinery will be additional skill.
- Knowledge of repair mechanical transmissions, drivetrains and final drives
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
- Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation, Accurate completion of work orders and timecards.
- Perform incidental welding operations on equipment.
- Other mechanical repair work as required.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances.
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or accidents/injuries in a timely manner to the supervisor in order to facilitate prompt correction or reporting.
Requirements
- Class A Truck and Coach license, 310T license
- 2 years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Possess a valid driver license.
- Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics.
- Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
