Axiom Builders is actively looking for an Innovation Lead to champion the research, analysis, and evaluation of various technologies to determine their applicability and effectiveness to the construction industry. Reporting to our Vice President of Construction Technology & Innovation and partnering with our in-house strategy team, you will be at the forefront of identifying and integrating cutting-edge technologies that have the potential to reshape how construction projects are planned, executed, and completed. The Innovation Lead role at Axiom Builders provides an exciting platform to lead groundbreaking transformations and shape the future of construction. You will

• Oversee partnerships with innovation funds that are investing in new and emerging construction technologies.
• Evaluating 150+ companies to shortlist investment portfolios.
• Develop and execute an innovation strategy aligned with the company goals.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and growth with new construction technologies.
• Evaluate and prioritize ideas based on feasibility, impact, and alignment with company needs.
• Stay updated on market trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with external partners, startups, and industry experts.
• Identify potential risks and challenges associated with innovation initiatives.
• Focus on understanding user needs and incorporating user feedback into solutions.
• Develop, track and report on clear KPIs that align with the business goals.

This person is naturally inclined to anticipate trends, consistently seeking avenues to innovate and redefine how things are traditionally done. You are an innovative thinker with a desire to drive meaningful change in the construction industry.

Skills And Experience

• At least 5 years of relevant business experience, related to Strategy & Operations or venture capitalist role.
• Prior experience as a consultant in a professional services firm, with a focus on the technology sector will be considered an asset.
• Academic background in Business, Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong entrepreneurial drive, and a proven history of success.
• Ability to present information effectively, ask meaningful questions, and engage senior executives in complex topics.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and conceptual thinking skills.
• Ability to frame, design and execute solutions that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Experience with implementing construction technologies would be considered a strong asset.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• MBA degree will be considered a strong asset.
