Babco Sales Looking for Intermediate Accountant at Surrey, BC Full Time

We are currently recruiting an experienced Intermediate accountant to join our team in our Surrey BC location. We’re looking for a driven, ambitious, growth-minded accountant, with a can-do attitude, to join our team in this newly created role and assist in the continued success and growth of the company. Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for several different accounting functions and provide administrative support to the Finance Department. You are comfortable learning and using Netsuite in your day-to-day tasks. The accountant will be responsible for compliance with established internal controls, maintaining databases, systems, processes, financial records, and reports with the highest regard for confidentiality and accuracy. In addition, this person will be responsible for preparing and reviewing month-end and year-end files.

Duties Include:

• Processing Purchase Orders and coordinating drop shipments with accuracy and completion.
• Preparing & reviewing month-end close

• Payments to Vendors via EFT/ACH
• Assist in supply chain management, including updating status for backordered items

• Assist in AD-HOC reporting as needed
• Creating and using Saved Searches/Reports in Netsuite
• Preparing Working papers for year-end and external accountants
• Prepare and maintain monthly cycle counts for inventory.

• Preparing and filing Sales Tax, EHT, WCB and other statutory returns
• Reconciling bank, credit card, inventory and other accounts
• Maintaining fixed asset ledgers including vehicle maintenance and insurance files
• Liaising with other departments such as sales and customer service to support daily operations
• Assist with preparation and analysis of budgets, profit and loss, KPI and variance reports by department for management review
• Assist in reviewing and developing procedures and processes that contribute to making data driven decisions impacting the company
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements Include:

• Diploma/bachelor’s degree or working towards an accounting designation.
• 2-3 + Years of accounting experience
• Microsoft Excel experience
• Netsuite experience an asset
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be proactive in your daily approach and possess a great Can-Do Attitude
• Previous accounting experience in working with Month-Ends/Year-Ends an asset.
• Must be extremely organized and comfortable juggling multiple projects at once
• Account reconciliation
• Familiar with COGS and Accounting
• A Team Player – Working Collaboratively with team members
• You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and you are assertive and comfortable in communicating with others
• You possess excellent attention to detail

Additional desired attributes:

• Have Netsuite experience – working with Saved Searches/Reporting & Dashboards
• You are interested in pursuing or are working towards your CPA designation
• A quick learner and someone willing to learn and take initiative when needed
• Highly motivated self-starter, being confident to taking on challenges
• Previous experience in implementing processes and changes in a growing business
