Job Description:
1. Vehicle Diagnosis and Inspection:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues using diagnostic equipment and tools.
Conduct vehicle inspections to identify and document problems or safety concerns.
Evaluate and assess the condition of vehicle components and systems.
2. Repair and Maintenance:
Perform repairs on various vehicle components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and suspension systems.
Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
Replace or repair damaged or worn-out parts and components.
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
3. Customer Interaction:
Communicate with customers to understand their vehicle problems and provide estimates for repairs.
Explain repair options, costs, and timelines to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
Address customer concerns and provide excellent customer service.
4. Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed.
Document parts used and labor hours for billing and warranty purposes.
Complete required paperwork, including repair orders and service reports.
5. Tools and Equipment:
Properly use and maintain a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition and follow safety protocols.
6. Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Keep up-to-date with industry advancements, regulations, and new vehicle technologies.
7. Quality Control:
Perform quality control checks to ensure that repairs meet industry standards and customer expectations.
Test drive vehicles after repairs to verify proper functionality.
8. Continuing Education:
Stay current with new automotive technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training and certification.
Qualifications:
Valid Automotive Service Technician (AST) license issued by the Ontario College of Trades (OCOT).
Strong mechanical and technical skills.
Knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
