Environmental Engineer – We are looking for a bilingual (English and French) Environmental Engineer to be responsible for the environmental compliance and sustainability of a new facility being built that will produce cathode active material (CAM) for electric vehicle batteries.
Compensation and Work Schedule
• Term: 12-month contract, with possibility for extension
• Start date: Immediately
• Schedule: Shift work; must be flexible to work various shifts
• Est. Reg. Hrs./Wk.: 40 + hours/week
• Work location/environment: Onsite, Manufacturing Facility in Becancour, Quebec
Qualifications and Education
• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management desired
• Proficiency in Air Permitting, Storm Water Permitting, Wastewater Pretreatment Permitting and/or Large Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements
• 10 years’ experience in Construction Management
• 4 years’ experience in the Automotive Industry
• Experience using AutoCAD
• Timely and effective problem solving skills
• Ability to communicate proficiently to all levels of management with executive presence
• Must be bilingual (English and French)
Responsibilities
• Understand the plant manufacturing systems including production processes, wastewater discharges, storm water management, air emissions impacts, sewer systems, chemical usage, and waste management/recycling programs, to ensure effective decision-making and regulatory compliance
• Interface with business partners and regulatory agencies to prepare required regulatory documentation and reports, schedule and perform compliance testing
• Develop programs to ensure compliance with all environmental regulations
• Audit construction compliance with environmental regulations
• Develop and lead effective teams for successful project execution
• Responsible for all site environmental permits
• Develop programs to improve the environmental sustainability of site and construction operations
