Production Supervisor – The main function of a Production Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers. As an experienced Production Supervisor, you have a high level of interpersonal skills and are able to effectively motivate employees and elicit work output. You will supervise a group of unionized hourly employees in a fast-paced automotive assembly facility.
Compensation and Work Schedule
– Term: Ongoing contract position
– Start date: Immediate
– Work Schedule: Must be available to work all shifts (Shift 1, Shift 2 and Shift 3 overnight)
– Compensation: $38.50/hour
– Work location/environment: Oshawa, ON; Assembly plant
Required Skills and Experience
– Minimum High School Diploma or GED, associate’s degree in business or related field preferred
– 5-7 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
– Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
– Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
– Leadership interest and abilities required for effective supervision of employees
Responsibilities
– Recommend measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency
– Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems
– Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, and maintenance to detect production problems
– Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personal grievances
– Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records
