About The Role
As the Activities Manager, you will develop and oversee activity programs for our Assisted Living and Independent Living residents, supporting Baptist Housing’s model of wellness. You will set annual goals, create monthly activity calendars, and drive the Baptist Housing bus for external activities. You will assist new residents in transitioning smoothly into the community and regularly assess and adjust activity plans based on observations and feedback. You will build relationships within the community, oversee scheduling and job distribution, and lead and assist the members of the Activity Department Team. You will organize volunteer recruitment, participate in hiring, and evaluate employee performance. Additionally, you will oversee the department budget and ensure communication with outside organizations. By promoting a culture of health and safety, you will ensure safe working practices and provide emergency first aid to residents when needed.

You excel at building professional relationships with team members, residents, and family visitors through your exceptional interpersonal skills that model our Baptist Housing values. Your effective verbal and written communication, combined with your ability to work both independently and collaboratively, make you a valuable team leader and mentor. You have demonstrated expertise in supervising and managing team member performance, recruiting and coordinating volunteers, and leading and teaching groups. Your conflict resolution skills ensure that relationships are preserved in alignment with our values. As a critical thinker with strong organizational skills, you manage time and priorities efficiently while adapting to changes. Your commitment to health and safety, proficiency with relevant software, and ability to drive the bus for resident activities ensure you provide top-tier service and care.
Compensation & Benefits
Your total compensation includes an hourly wage of $29.83, employer-paid benefits, four weeks’ vacation, RRSP matching and support for professional development.
