Summary of Responsibilities
We are currently looking for an energetic, hard-working Via Pack In-Process Checker to work a full-time permanent position on our Midnight shift (Sunday to Thursday 23:00-7:00) at our Alliston facility. Starting wage is Level 5, step 1.
The Via Pack In-Process Checker performs Record Keeper duties on a regular basis and Material Handler Operator duties as required Perform and document all required Viaflex Packing In-process checks, tests and report results to production as necessary. Prepare reports documenting all production related data for all Packing lines. Maintain records of absenteeism, time and vacation for Department. This position backs up the Department Supervisors when absent
Due to the nature of our business, Baxter follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) which requires our employees to focus on cleanliness and contamination control. Other aspects of GMP that must be observed are no makeup or jewelry in the production areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Complete all necessary paperwork and maintaining records of absenteeism, hours and vacation for the department. Schedule batch changes. Utilize the following computer systems: Kronos/ AS400 and EBR.
Perform Quality checks and record in EBR
Remove samples from trucks and collect final physicals.
Record all discards by classification for each batch and return acceptable bags to the line.
Report high discard rates to the Department responsible.
Recount all discards and cartons packed, if batch units do not balance to zero.
Schedule batch changes including carton size change for Bliss Operator.
Perform batch changes including line clearance and EBR entries.
Must fill in reconciliation on the shop floor sheet and then enter into computer.
Scan and release Direction sheets to line as required.
This position backs up the Department Supervisors when absent
Prepare all production documents.
Post correct data (code, lot expiration date) on batch boards at start of each batch.
Record all labour transfer and time sheets and submit daily reports to accounting department.
Perform Packing operations as required (break coverage) and drive Tow Motor
.
Job Requirements
Successful completion of High School diploma or GED required (Proof will be requested)
Must pass ergonomic assessment to ensure ability to perform bonafide essential job duties
Experience doing repetitive tasks
Manufacturing/Quality experience in a GMP environment
Demonstrated good attendance in present position
Demonstrated good performance & good quality in present position
Demonstrated good attitude, utilizing Baxter’s Shared Commitments
Ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities.
