MARKETING SPECIALIST

FULL TIME

70 Hours Bi-weekly| Non-Union | Days Shift

The Baycrest Center for Geriatric Care Marketing and Communications department is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies for a wide range of internal and external audiences in support of Baycrest’s objectives.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Specialist will contribute on marketing strategies on behalf of Baycrest to grow awareness of the Baycrest brand and its programs and services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develops content and marketing strategies for a variety of Baycrest programs and offerings.
• Collaborates with Baycrest staff and external vendors to plan and execute marketing campaigns (digital, print, sales materials, social, etc.), including identifying target audiences, creating content (copy and creative), optimization, measurement and analysis.
• Work with vendors and staff to evaluate and recommend solutions and ideas related to media relations, paid media, print outputs and infrastructure
• Develop and provide guidance related to brand research, strategy and execution as it pertains to media presence, marketing collateral and opportunities
• Support the creation of, and participate in the creation and/or revision of branded content, ads, print and digital marketing collateral, media relations collateral, social media content, and designed collateral for Baycrest related programs/initiatives.
• Proactively support leadership through awareness and forecasting of opportunities
• Flags potential issues related to marketing campaigns to management.
• Coordinate strategy and execution of marketing-related projects.
• Serve as a contributing writer to marketing and communications created materials (i.e. Annual Report, BrainMatters magazine, internal communications, etc.)
• Sourcing estimates for projects and contracts related to media and marketing spends, assessing potential ROI.
• Performs cross-functional and other duties as assigned and /or required.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

• University Degree or College Diploma (Communications, Journalism, Marketing)
• Minimum of 5 – 7 years experience in communications, marketing, public relations/media position where responsibilities have included: demonstrated success in the development and implementation of integrated strategic marketing and communications plans, campaigns, projects and initiatives
• MS Office (excellent MS Word, Excel skills, PowerPoint)
• Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop)
• Experience with photography; social media platforms (YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram),
• Photography/video skills are assets
• Calm demeanor in the face of pressure
• Consummate team player
