POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting is responsible for the accounting function within the branch. Corporate Accounting is responsible for the timely and accurate accounting and reporting of actual results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in a complex environment with challenging and competing deadlines.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Finance department is part of BCI Operations and is responsible for investment and corporate accounting, valuation, as well as financial statements and financial client reporting. The team also leads BCI’s budgeting process, tax structuring and tax compliance, finance operations and performance measurement. Working with our internal business partners, auditors and external advisors, the Finance department strives to be a trusted advisor to our internal and external clients by providing timely, accurate and relevant financial information.
The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for all corporate accounting and corporate financial management functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees all financial accounting, management and reporting aspects of actual results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

Works closely with the FP&A team, payroll staff and departmental staff throughout BCI to ensure timely and accurate reporting of all transactions, actual results, financial information and reports

Oversees the accounts payables and expense management processes, accounts receivable processes along with the treasury function and cash flow forecasting and monitoring

Supervises and manages the corporate accounting senior analysts and analysts

Maintains and documents corporate accounting processes, procedures and Finance directives

Acts as Director, Corporate Accounting during short term absences
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have:
-
A professional accounting designation (CPA)
-
8+ years of experience with at least 4 years specific to accounting/finance technical areas and 3 years’ experience in management or supervisory role

Experience leading, mentoring, and developing a high performing team
-
Strong conceptual and technical understanding of IFRS
-
Knowledge of all aspects of financial reporting, accounting, and financial practices and procedures

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to develop efficient and effective automated work processes

Experience interacting with internal senior management and external advisors/auditors
Preferred:
-
Experience with complex de-centralized organizations, ideally financial institutions

Experience using MS Dynamics NAV accounting software and Jet Reports
-
Experience with Workday Enterprise Management Cloud software
