The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

The LDB has been assigned to distribute, wholesale and sell non-medicinal cannabis inclusive of a government owned online channel with a mandate to support government’s key priorities of protecting children and youth, ensuring health and safety standards, and keeping the criminal element out of the supply chain. Following legalization, the BCLDB began distribution and wholesale of cannabis, and operating BC Cannabis Stores in a growing number of locations across the province. Since 2018 the BC Cannabis Stores chain has grown to over 30 locations with more growth planned all across the province. Cannabis operations within the BCLDB includes the Distribution, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing departments.
The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing the overall transportation services for the Cannabis Distribution Centre (DC). Working with both internal and external stakeholders, the Manager will provide leadership and direction on business processes that support the effective and efficient movement of product within a fast paced, dynamic omnichannel environment.
This position is responsible for managing the contractual, financial, and service performance for all carriers, ensuring the right product, at the right place, at the right time. Of equal importance are the responsibilities to develop and implement strategies to deliver against short- and long-term cost initiatives and target. The position entails a high degree of relationship building/management. Actively cultivating relationships, obtaining support and driving results to exceed customer service and on-time targets. The position will be responsible for maintaining and developing the routes and delivery schedules for our retail partners, and for adjusting schedules based on the requirements of the business.
The position will be further responsible for the maintaining and developing the strategy for inbound scheduling, including time and resource planning, and maintaining steady flow of products and materials into the facility. The position will be tasked with developing and procuring new tools and services to enhance and report on inbound productivity.

Position Requirements:
Education and Experience:
A degree or diploma related to logistics, transportation, distribution, business administration, supply chain, or a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of recent, related work experience.*
A minimum of 3 years of experience with third party logistics providers and transportation networks in a leadership capacity.
Experience managing budgets, contracts, and negotiations for cost and performance.
Experience with omnichannel wholesale/retail operations environment.
Experience with e-commerce fulfillment.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
Experience working with a warehouse management system and/or transportation management system.
Experience with scorecard and metrics management; vendor reporting; financial reporting.
Experience working in a unionized environment.
