A dynamic multi-faceted administrative opportunity with the Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure
The capital program of the Ministry of Transportation fluctuates in value; however, the current service plan period averages $1.5 billion per year. There are four Major Projects currently underway valued at $4.9 Billion (Pattullo Bridge Replacement, Broadway Subway, Hwy 91/17 and Kicking Horse Canyon – Phase 4). The program of four Major Projects is being delivered concurrently.
The accounting and budget clerk provide budget and accounting support services for a Major Project.
This role requires sound judgement and excellent organizational abilities. You capably prioritize and manage your workload to meet deadlines, using your outstanding eye for detail to ensure all work is carried out to a high standard. You are an effective communicator, able to successfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and demonstrate initiative and good judgment in applying procedures within established policies and guidelines. Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Secondary school graduation or equivalent and one (1) year of related experience.
Related experience must include all of the following:
Experience providing administrative and financial support services for a group of staff.
Experience working in accounting and budgeting.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
Post-secondary education in accounting and business.
Transportation experience.
Experience working with CAS (Corporate Accounting System) andor Oracle.
