Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and ability of the candidate to meet the key requirements of the job. In addition, our pay philosophy is to align with the median of the range and be considerate of internal equity comparisons.

What you’ll be doing…
As Vice President of People and Culture, you foster a passionate organizational culture through your warm approach as a people-first champion. As a data-driven decision maker, you deliver on short and long-term people strategies in support of BC Transit’s strategic priorities and People and Culture’s divisional plans. You have a knack for driving transformative change management through strategic HR planning and leadership. As the lead and champion for equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives, the work you do matters – and makes an impact. Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer, your role has oversight over all People and Culture areas and embraces the concept of collective leadership while participating as an engaged member of the Senior Leadership Team.

What you’ll bring to the table…
We value lifelong learners and have found the following combination of education and experience allows people to be successful in this role:
Masters degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or equivalent.
At least seven years of senior HR experience.
Experience in leading a people-first culture, both within their team and across the organization.
Strong and comprehensive labour relations skills, preferably in a multi-union environment.
Demonstrated ability to take a strategic approach on opportunities for innovation and find creative solutions to issues.
Proven ability as a team leader with a commitment to create, support and sustain an environment that enables staff to achieve results and to develop and build organizational capacity for the future.
Proactive problem solving and decision-making skills.

Interviews will take place between July 13 and July 15, 2022.
There will be an assignment/presentation as part of the interview process.
