Analyst, Business Insights Automotive
Summary:
The Analyst, Business Insights is a member of the Road Assist team working in close collaboration with the Manager, Product and Programs, Fleet Operations and Road Assist Contact Center (RACC) leaders. This role will be responsible for the execution of regular and ad-hoc operations and business reporting and analysis for all Road Assist products, including interpreting business problems, retrieving and analyzing data, and communicating results to senior stakeholders. Other responsibilities include:
- The development and maintenance of management reporting tools
- Developing and maintaining tools to assist with business and operations decisions
- Monitoring and submitting recommendations for improvements and enhancements of processes and capabilities as they relate to operational efficiencies & budgets
- Develop/test hypothesis and analysis on growth strategies grounded in research
This position will report to the Manager, Products and Programs Automotive and will collaborate closely with all aspects of the Road Assist Operations team, as well as Marketing, the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, Information Systems, and the Accounting department.
Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting / Forecasting / Analytics – 75%
- Develop and maintain strategically aligned management reporting tools
- Develop and maintain tools to assist with business and operations decisions
- Identify and investigate challenges and opportunities for Road Assist Operations performance including Fleet & RACC
- Maintain and proactively improve forecasting and tracking models for all areas of Road Assist including operations, service levels, battery program, etc.
- Research external sources (industry organizations, government) for information to assist analysis and comparison
- Interpret and analyze structured business problems and queries – deliver and communicate on results, insights, trends and predictive analysis of internal data to provide clear and actionable recommendations that can be used to improve BCAA’s Member experience and/or improve in operational efficiencies
- Formulate and execute test scenarios and models to test the possible outcomes of proposed courses of action
- Turn analysis into concrete solutions implementable immediately by various teams
- Present analysis, conclusions and recommendations to a wide group of stakeholders including Senior Leaders
- Reconcile actual results to expectations and conduct routine analysis to detect data errors
- Proactively seek out and put forward recommendations for new tools and/or procedures to enhance the quality and timeliness of operations reporting
- Monitor and make recommendations to enhance the quality and timeliness of managerial reporting
- Build models and tools to create operational efficiencies in both customer and business operations.
- Work with IS to keep Analytics updated with latest refreshes of data sets, and test to ensure refreshed data is updated accurately
Strategy – 25%
- Develop, and maintain a robust understanding of the competitive environment and present recommendations for future growth and strategic direction
- Assist in the development of strategic recommendations, business cases, plans and presentations based on the needs of the business
- Present to Senior Leaders and assist with the implementation of the proposals
- Work with internal and external researchers and partners to enhance understanding of the overall emergency roadside assistance (ERS) experience

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Business, Math or related subjects.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in business reporting and analysis or equivalent combination of education and experience?

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in geospatial and temporal analysis and optimization
- Experience with complex simulation models using large data sets
- Familiarity with data analyses tools like Python, SQL, R, etc.
- Strong knowledge of analytics tools (spreadsheets, relational databases, geospatial software, and statistical packages) as well as advanced proficiency with standard productivity software
