Job Description: Senior Financial Analysis – Financial Planning and Analysis
Reports to: Associate Director, Financial Planning and Analysis
Location: Mississauga
Term: Permanent role
Role
The FP&A Senior Financial Analysis will be a critical support to the Financial Planning and Analysis team and Business Unit Partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and providing finance support to the FP&A team and Business Unit partners. This includes the development of business unit expenses related financial information required for business planning, performance reporting, strategic planning, and decision support. Monthly and quarterly data analysis and reporting to support revenue related accruals and revenue recognition. The candidate should be adaptable in a dynamic, fast paced, and growing environment with an appetite for growth and improvement.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for monthly expense analysis as part of month end close process. Work closely with NASSC and local accounting team to ensure expenses are appropriately reflected. Report and explain expense performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
Prepare and review monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to record GL transactional activity and adjustments to maintain complete and accurate accounting records
Support the annual budget, three-years strategic plan and quarterly forecast for business unit’s expenses
Monitor and report of key sales trends to both business units and operations partners
Monthly rebate accrual analysis preparation, including the monitoring of system rebate rates and analysis review with business unit’s Finance Business Managers
Prepare quarterly analysis such as revenue recognition requirement reporting and price volume
Developing and streamlining report and analysis models
Review existing accounting policies, activities, processes, and systems and make recommendations to Management on any necessary changes.
Ad hoc projects, analyses, and other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
Undergraduate degree and must be actively working towards a CPA designation
Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Commerce is an asset
2 years of experience in forecast, financial and business analysis (FP&A) and strong understanding of accounting/financial reporting.
Comfortable to work with data sourced from multiple ERP systems
Highly motivated, energetic and team-oriented
Organized, able to manage time/ multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong financial analytical capabilities and forecast experience
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent time management skills to meet competing deadlines and priorities
Highly proficient in Excel
Knowledge and experience with SAP/JDE ERP system and/or BPC will be an asset, but not requirement
