Your opportunity:
BDO Canada is currently looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Advisory Practice, with the ability to work from anywhere in Canada. The individual will own the following responsibilities:
Support weekly, monthly and annual reporting requirements of the business unit, ensuring accuracy is maintained throughout
Use superior Excel and Power BI skills to analyze data from multiple systems and build insightful reports and models for senior leaders to identify areas of success and opportunities for improvement
Provide key business analysis and support ad-hoc reporting requests
Support budget planning and financial forecasting processes
Maintain data governance to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting as well as to identify and solve any discrepancies that arise promptly
Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to understand the business and the business needs
Perform detailed variance analysis to answer questions or resolve issues for service lines
Demonstrate initiative by consistently searching for areas of improvement and bringing forward new ideas and solutions
Supports other business strategies and initiatives as required
Your experience and education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, data analytics or other related field
2+ years of experience in financial analysis & reporting
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills and experience is required
Strong data collection and analytical skills including the ability to manage, manipulate and streamline large volumes of data
Excellent attention to detail is required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information to all levels of management in a clear and concise manner
Fast learner who can adapt quickly to changing requirements/requests from the business
Team player, who can effectively collaborate with others on projects and initiatives
