Job Purpose
As the Director of Event Marketing, you will be responsible for leading and executing a comprehensive event marketing and revenue generation strategy. You will oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of the Motorcycle and Powersport Shows held annually across Canada. Your role will be instrumental in driving brand awareness, membership engagement, and revenue growth through exceptional event experiences.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic events and sales plan aligned with the company’s goals and objectives
Manage large event budgets efficiently and effectively, ensuring financial objectives are met
Foster relationships with sponsors, exhibitors, Influencers and other key stakeholders
Work cross-functionally with a team of business development professionals to develop business objectives, concepts, deliverables, and timelines for the show
Work to integrate event marketing with other marketing channels
Manage suppliers and partners for space arrangement, marketing collateral, hotels, equipment rental, and exhibit set-up
Execute trade show promotional plans to maximize company exposure and generate sales leads
Work closely with the marketing team to develop event marketing strategies, including advertising, email campaigns, social media promotion, and content creation
Build and manage a high-performing events team, including event planners, coordinators, and support staff
Conduct post-event evaluations to measure the success of each event
Ensure that all events adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines, including health and safety protocols
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Management, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
Proven experience in trade shows, event management, and executing large-scale events
Strong leadership and management skills,
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
Attention to detail and a results-driven mindset
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the automotive industry would be an asset
Familiarity with virtual event platforms and hybrid event strategies
Strong industry connections and a network of event professionals
Experience working with CRMs
Ability to work in both French and English an asset
