Role Description and Responsibilities

Team Development and Staffing
Involve a Board Director in the interview of new employees, in terminations and in disciplinary actions.
Operations
Worker, and the Pet Treat Bakery Coordinator and, where appropriate, with our bookkeeper.
Support Worker to: have Records of Employment created when employees leave, ensure that annual requirements are met re. the C.R.A., audit of financial records for annual reports (Marcel Moose: Accountant). Consult with Management Team andBookkeeper to ensure payment of building insurance, payment of building lease, etc.
Coordinator report to you. Please liaise with the Vice-President who oversees the PTB.
You report to the Board of Directors.
Skills and Abilities
– Effective verbal and written communication skills.
– Ability to work with technology and with office software: e.g., Office 365, spreadsheets, virtual conferencing.
– Ability to function as a team member and represent the organization to the public.
– Ability to make difficult decisions and have difficult conversations while remaining professional.
– Ability to form and maintain positive relationships with adults of diverse abilities (our clients).
– Demonstrates a commitment to staff collaboration and positive interactions, creating a positive and rewarding work environment.
Education and Experience
– Post-Secondary education in a related field. Eg. Certificate or Diploma of Human Service
Worker, or in Special Needs.
– Experience in team leadership, especially within a setting in which employees work with people with diverse abilities.
– Experience in running an office, working in the Human Resources field, and in the reporting functions (e.g., To a Board of Directors).
– Preferred candidates will have experience with accreditation (eg. CARF) in the social services sector.
This position is seen as a developing one. For the right candidate, the position could evolve into that of an Executive Director, with increased hours, responsibilities, and remuneration. There is a two-month probationary period for the position. You will begin earning 6% vacation pay immediately and a full set of benefits (Pacific Blue Cross) at the satisfactory conclusion of the probationary period. You will have an office and a company credit card. Starting salary is
