About The Role
We’re looking for a Personal Lines Underwriting Assistant to join our growing West and Ontario belairdirect Personal Lines Underwriting team. People will count on you to work closely with the Underwriters in order to contribute to achieving our regional goals. This position is a permanent opportunity that requires a minimum of 2 days in your local office. This position can be based in: Vancouver BC, Edmonton AB, Toronto ON, North York ON and Mississauga ON.
What You’ll Do Here
- Support the underwriting team by processing and amending new business, endorsements, renewals and cancellations within established authority level in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Refer risks to underwriters based on complexity and authority level.
- Assist Underwriters with the administration of policies.
- Use the computer system for policy inquiry, electronic filing, underwriting and rating transactions.
- Make recommendations to improve the department and increase its efficiency.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Table
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Proficient data entry skills and strong attention to detail
- Highly organized to manage workflow efficiently without continuous supervision
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Legendary customer service and relationship building skills
- Initiative and ability to work under pressure
- Computer proficient with the ability to navigate through multiple systems
