What does the Marketing department look like?
We’re a committed and talented group of diverse people working hard to solve a real, universal problem for millions of entrepreneurs: businesses need to understand their financial performance, but for many smaller ones, this means a trade-off between doing their books and running their businesses. Bench solves this dilemma by taking bookkeeping off of their hands. We’ve paired smart humans with incredibly powerful software to develop the fastest, most efficient bookkeeping service in history. This lets us provide monthly and yearly financials at an incredibly accessible price, giving business owners the time, confidence, and knowledge they need to be successful.
Bench is growing fast. Recently, we’ve onboarded our 12,000th client and our 600th employee. We have a clear, funded path to profitability, and a roadmap that we believe will rapidly accelerate the trajectory of our business. We’re looking for the brightest minds who love solving tough problems to join us on this incredible journey, in pursuit of bringing financial mastery to our clients.
What we are looking for:
You are an experienced leader adept at developing, articulating, and driving the implementation of content strategies that have resulted in significant increases in relevant user traffic. You demonstrate a clear ability to develop tactics and campaigns that drive the business goals: relevant audience growth, engagement, and client acquisition.
As our Head of Content, you will be at the heart of building awareness of Bench and double the contribution of our inbound loop over the next three years. You will create a unique vision and content strategy that leads Bench to be the #1 source of information for small business finances. You surround yourself with an exceptional team of content creators, strategists, and storytellers that care deeply about helping entrepreneurs thrive. You leverage your expertise, audience knowledge, and innovative approach to lead your team in finding our next big content opportunity that will take our product growth to new heights.
To date, we’ve created over 700 content resources and received over 20 million unique visitors in the past two years, making our blog the largest (by far) in our industry. We excel in SEO-driven content and draw in 3x more traffic from Google than our top competitor. But there’s a lot more opportunity for our content, and you will be the driver of the step-change.
What you’ll get up to:

Identify the right content for the right purpose, drive consistent results, and establish KPIs for the different types of content we produce
Ensure relevance and consistency of our content across platforms
Develop workflows and tools that allow your team to respond quickly to market trends and customer desires
Apply a journalistic methodology that captures the attention of our audience
Guide your team to produce content that is both easy to read and engaging
Lead, mentor, and empower your team members to achieve company, team, and personal development goals
What you’ll need:
