Berwick Family Practice Office seeks motivated individual to serve as casual MOA. Office is located in Berwick, Nova Scotia, and has a complement of 8 regular clinicians, and several part-time allied health professionals, as well as medical learners (medical residents and medical students).
Responsibilities
Reporting to office manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for a wide variety of administrative functions and duties. These may include but are not limited to: reception and interaction with patients and other healthcare professionals; computer applications/file management; billing; documentation and records management; and general office duties. The successful applicant will interact professionally and respectfully with colleagues, clinicians, and understand the importance of confidentiality.
Qualifications
-High school equivalency and successful completion of a recognized administrative/secretarial program and medical terminology course or equivalent experience
-Minimum one year’s experience preferred
-Computer proficiency with accurate keyboarding (minimum 50 wpm); knowledge of MedAccess EMR an asset (but not required)
-Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
-Demonstrated organizational skills
-Ability to be adaptable and flexible, and maintain calm and professional disposition in stressful situations
