Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, the Software Engineer will be an important member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team with main responsibility to establish automated assembly & packaging manufacturing systems. Deploying novel equipment from industry, you will participate throughout the design, analysis, optimization, and maintenance phases integrating equipment into the overall production process. This will be an on-site position.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
- Develop, design, and test new components, features, and functionality;
- Troubleshoot, correct and resolve software system anomalies;
- Drive continuous integration and automated testing leveraging modern tools and frameworks that enable production efficiency;
- Perform complex design analysis;
- Create software documentation;
- Effectively communicate technical information verbally and in writing;
- Participate in IoT initiatives and transforming data into value added applications;
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent combination of education and related experience;
- Candidates with previous experience working with automated production line following cGMP in the Medical Device, Biotech. or Pharmaceutical industries will be given priority.
- 5 years of experience in software engineering and test;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in semi and fully automated assembly & packaging systems;
- Specialist experience with robotics (Fanuc) and vision systems (Cognex, Keyence); understanding of the respective technical functionalities and applications in high-speed manufacturing;
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities;
- Strong coding, debugging, algorithm design and problem solving skills;
- Experience in planning and accomplishing goals and complicated tasks as top-level contributor or specialist;
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities ;
- Ability to influence and negotiate when faced with opposing views or resistance;
- Must be highly flexible and have the ability and willingness to take responsibility to ensure tight deadlines are met;
- Ability to travel for various training and testing activities as required;
- Trained in Lean Six Sigma principles an asset.
