Responsibilities: *

• Under the direction of the Controller, will assist with all aspects of the accounting and finance departments for the Birdseye Group of Companies, which includes, but is not limited to, planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of a company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory reporting, bank negotiations, consolidated financial statements, job costing and monthly reporting
• Perform daily accounting functions such as verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts receivables and accounts payables
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of banks and credit cards, and other asset and liability accounts.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
• Assist with preparation and processing of Payroll, HST and income tax returns data.
• Prepare other periodic and ad-hoc reports
• Liaise with other departments, external auditors, vendors, banks and other stakeholders
• Routinely look for areas of improvement and offer recommendations developing and Implementing controls, processes, policies and procedures
• Finance technology optimization: adopt digital technologies to improve finance processes
• Adhere and promote company’s ICARE culture
• Act as mentor to team and hold team building events regularly or as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Educational requirements

• Post Secondary education in Accounting/Finance
• Candidates working towards CPA

• Minimum 5 years experience in Finance/Accounting
• Canadian and US Tax experience
• Experience working with multi-currency or in a multi-entity setting is preferred
• Strong analytical skills to conduct research, create reports and present findings.
• Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills.
• Team player and can collaborate with other departments in the organization
• Strong skills on Quickbooks and ERP systems
• Strong inventory experience a must
• Fast tech growth scale up experience preferred
