Responsibilities: *

Payroll/HR Function: *

• Process bi-weekly Canadian & U.S payroll; input changes into the HRIS system and check accuracy of payroll related data.
• Maintain the HRIS system; process employee enrollments, troubleshoot access issues, and facilitate timeclock maintenance.
• Prepare various monthly reports including, Employee Headcount, Commission, Provincial WCBs, Pension, Benefits, and Garnishments.
• Payroll month-end reporting including the preparing and uploading of journal entries.
• Payroll year-end processes including T4, and T2200 Reports, WCB/WSIB Reconciliations, EHT annual returns.
• Payroll/HR compliance
• Administering the group benefits
• Maintain all HR/payroll document filing system(s) (manual and electronic).
• Ensure all files are kept confidential/secure and prepare various related reports.
• Office staff recruitment
• Onboarding and offboarding office employees
• Timely staff communication regarding Covid etc.
• Health & Safety Co-Lead
• Maintain OT/Vac/Sick
• General support and working with the accounting team
• Other duties and special projects as assigned
• Suggest ways to improve processes, efficiencies, and spending

Office Administration:

• Overall management of the office, organized and professional working environment
• Maintaining company insurance policies, leases, SW licenses; and renewing the terms

• Process various office facility-related invoices and ensure timely payment and follow up
• Manage the office meal, snack, and coffee delivery services
• Suggest ways to improve processes, efficiencies, and spending
• Coordinating company events
• Other duties and special projects as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• 3 + years of experience with full-cycle payroll processes, including HR and office management
• Payroll certification
• HR certification will be an asset.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in English/Spanish
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, high degree of accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency & adherence to deadlines.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to identify unusual entries, discrepancies, or problems and resolve them independently
• Hands-on experience with various accounting software packages; experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics 365 an asset
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as a team, with a passion for making continuous improvements.

Location:

• This role is on site. The candidate will report to our Toronto HQ.

This role will require the candidate to complete background checks (includes but not limited to: references, educational verification, criminal check, credit check – where applicable). Certain roles may also require testing.
