About the position
Bloom is looking for a part-time licensed/registered psychologist to join our growing team. At Bloom, we bring the worlds of science and psychedelics together by providing the safest, most effective, evidence-based psychedelic-assisted therapy. Our innovative program combines ketamine and psychotherapy to provide modern mental healthcare solutions that show real promise in improving lives. As laws evolve and we become involved in research trials through our affiliation with the University of Calgary, we plan to offer other psychedelic medicines in conjunction with psychotherapy.
The ideal candidate for this position will have an interest in and experience with the healing potential of alternate states of consciousness and a desire to learn and grow within this emerging field. The role may include administering psychological evaluations and intake assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing ongoing therapeutic support throughout a client’s course of treatment. This may include conducting both individual and group virtual and/or in-person therapy sessions designed to assist clients in developing awareness, improving coping strategies, restoring functioning, and enhancing overall wellness and quality of life. You will also be involved in preparatory sessions to help client’s prepare for their psychedelic experiences and integration sessions to help client’s involve the teachings from these experiences into daily life.

We are in process of moving to not for profit and are a collaborative clinic working with other professionals and clinics to impact the delivery of KAP programs for the clients that need accessibility of this service.
The successful candidate would help implement an innovative approach to treating depression, anxiety, and PTSD using ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, your work would be an integral part of delivering a program dedicated to providing the best in class psychedelic care. Your work will contribute to research we will be conducting at our clinic to track and publish outcomes, making you a part of the bigger movement happening throughout the field of psychedelic medicine.
Primary Responsibilities
· Assess clients to determine eligibility, need for service, the nature of the problem, and personalized program recommendations.
· Develop and implement an individualized treatment plan with the goal of improving psychological and physical functioning.
· Lead individual and/or group therapy sessions with clients within the context of treatment programs and provide ongoing support throughout the client experience.
. Provide psychotherapy in conjunction with ketamine administration. Further training is provided.
· Document clients’ progress on an ongoing basis and evaluate the extent to which outcomes have been achieved throughout the course of the program.
· Coordinate care and communications among clients, mental healthcare providers (therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, primary care physicians), and the medical team.
· Support the education of clients, students, staff, and the community through ongoing professional development.
Clinic hours are primarily 8:30-4:30 M-F, but evening and weekend shifts may be required to facilitate group therapy sessions or in-service trainings.
This position offers an hourly rate of $70.00.
Qualifications
Acceptable candidates must have:
· Completion of a master’s degree (or master’s equivalent); Registered and in good standing with your College.
· Trauma informed training, including and not limited to A.R.T.
· Advanced communication skillsets and capacity to utilize the therapeutic relationship for the betterment of the client.
Experience
· Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in individual and group therapy specifically focused on addressing common and complex mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, somatic disorders, and chronic pain, and trauma and stressor-related conditions.
· Trauma-informed care approach/training is a must.
· Working knowledge of and demonstrated training in relational therapies such as IFS, Hakomi, Yalom and Gestalt style of therapy.
· Background in Motivational Interviewing, psychedelic-assisted therapies, mindfulness-based therapies, Somatic Experiencing, and similar modalities is a plus.
· Integrated, lived experiences that support clinical competencies are acknowledged and welcomed.
· Experience managing client flow and working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment a plus.
· Experience working with psychedelic assisted psychotherapy is preferred. If not a strong interest and willingness to learn is important.
