About the role:
Reporting to the VP, Finance and Infrastructure, the Senior Financial Administrator supports our busy accounting department by completing a variety of financial tasks in a timely and efficient manner while providing accounting and administrative support to team members. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys providing excellent customer service while managing a variety of tasks within a fast-paced, growing company.
What you’ll do in the role:
> Monthly account reconciliations for General Ledger accounts and completion of monthly working papers; record journal entries
> Follow monthly billing schedules and follow-up for clarification as required; prepare and send invoices to clients
> Maintain fixed asset and Prepaid expense schedules
> Complete monthly revenue and billing reconciliations for re-billable expenses including print, postage (US and Canada), media purchases, lists and data services, courier charges and stock photo images
> Accounts receivable management which includes following up on all overdue payments; escalate as needed
> Cash flow management, including reporting, US currency conversion, accounts receivable collection, company Line of Credit, client deposits and advances
> Prepare and submit bank deposits primarily in a remote capacity
> Approve wire transfers and Electronic Fund Transfers for accounts payable
> Collaborate with external accountant who completes the company’s financial statements and work with clients to provide support with reporting requests
> Process employee expense reports
> Provide support and training to internal teams with Workamajig software as well as administrative support to Finance team; provide back-up support to Accounts Payable and Payroll as required
You bring to the role:
> 5 years’ experience in an accounting role ideally within a mid-sized business
> Knowledge of US accounting standards and transactions would be considered an asset
> Strong computer skills with working knowledge of project management software and accounting systems like Workamajig
> Ability to take initiative and work independently while handling complex and confidential financial information
> Effective communication skills with an eagerness to learn and share knowledge
> Strong multi-tasking abilities to complete various financial tasks at scheduled times in a fast-paced environment
> Flexible and adaptable to deliver excellent customer service while effectively managing competing priorities and deadlines
> Highly detail-oriented with the ability to proactively identify and address errors and potential risks
