Job Description

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic co-op student for our manufacturing/bottling facility to maintain, fix, and improve equipment used in bottling and packaging operations.

This role is available for the summer work term from May to September 2024.

Hours of Work:

4 on/4 off schedule, 12 hour shift.

Shift schedule: 5:25am – 5:35 pm

• Participate in safety programs and ensure the application of our safety standards for all maintenance operation

• You have a commitment to work in a safe productive manner to maximize quality and production while minimizing production, maintenance costs and unscheduled downtime

• Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform necessary repairs

• Collaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel with daily operation activities

• Execute PMs during planned stoppages to include focus on project work installation, tag closure, standard procedure creation, and work order execution

• Utilize SAP for processing work orders, weekly schedules, PM’s, and updating the equipment database.

• Perform periodic inspections of equipment and systems to observe operating condition and need for repair or adjustment

• You will apply your excellent organizational skills to maximize uptime, quality, and production

• Execute preventative maintenance activities including troubleshooting and repairs to all equipment, hydraulic systems, conveyors, and pumps in a timely manner

• Communicate updates to supervisor to maintain goals

• Participate and attend training as required

• Ability to meet the physical lifting, walking, bending, reaching requirements of the position

• Shift work will be required, including holidays and weekend to support the 24/7 operations

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Automation (Millwright) program

• Experience in related industrial environment is an asset

• Excellent communication (verbal & written), organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and within a diverse team environment

• Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills

• Familiarity with high-speed production equipment is an asset

• Support continuous improvement and contribute to cost savings initiatives

• MS Office computer skills. Familiarity with SAP considered an asset.

• Possess a strong safety focus and exceptional safety record
