About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will work across all functions of the Human Resources value chain, including talent management, career management, succession planning, workforce planning, performance management, remuneration and rewards, organizational effectiveness, and employee relations.
The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in building trusting and strategic partnerships with diverse business groups with different human capital needs to actively identify trends, opportunities, and risks to their departments. As part of this ongoing process, the Human Resources Generalist will focus on getting to the root cause of issues and implement effective, sustainable solutions for our people. Your ability to help the organization make better and more informed decisions by using data and insights to assess the impact of our human resources programs and initiatives will be the key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities include:
Contribute to the business strategy by helping business leaders to identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes;
Establish effective working relationships and a business partnership based on trust, experience, and credibility;
Understand the business needs to provide proactive HR support and services aligned to those needs and to the strategic plans;
Provide coaching on key areas such as: Talent Review, Performance Management, recruitment, terminations, diversity and inclusion, compensation, employee development, employment equity, change management, team effectiveness;
Work with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure all aspects of the recruitment and selection process are supported;
Implement policies, processes, and practices. Help to build/establish policies, processes, and practices to assist the business and ensure effective operation of business;
Work on employee engagement initiatives to improve culture and retention of key talent;
Maintain up to date knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources.

Our Must Haves
Minimum of five (5) years of human resources experience;
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Strong understanding of employment law and standards;
Excellent written and verbal communication – ability to be discreet, professional and articulate in all correspondence;
Ability to use judgment and offer guidance to confidential, sensitive employee concerns;
Ability to stay organized, self-manage, and be proactive;
Interest in pursuing a CPHR designation will be considered an asset.
