As the Design Engineer for our Mobile Plant division this role can be based out of Alberta, Canada or Arizona, U.S. and will assist in creating innovative, technically sound, cost-effective solutions to meet and exceed customer requirements.
You will utilize your attention to detail skill set to check drawings to ensure drawing standards have been adhered to and engineering requirements are captured in full, while also controlling and issuing all technical documents required by manufacturing and sales.
You are a problem solver who will assist with product failure investigations and provide feedback and opportunities for improvement of CAD model and drafting checklists in line with internal NX standards.
As a data-driven and detail-oriented engineer, you will conduct analyses using hand calculations, FEA, MBD and DEM. Using your experience with Mining, Mills, and Crushers, you will actively participate in designing and engineering development of new products and existing products.
Key Selection Criteria
- Relevant Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar stream
- Proficiency in English – Written and Verbal
- Experience with FEA, CAD models and drawings
- Experience working within a heavy manufacturing, foundry or mining environment.
- Experience working with mining excavator: buckets, Ground Engaging Tools (GET) and crawler systems preferred
- Experience with CAD and PLM (Siemens NX and Teamcenter preferable)
- Experience with 3D Scan Equipment and the software to process (VXElements, Geomagic)
- Experience with Project Management Software
This role can be based in Edmonton, Fort MacMurray, Calgary or Mesa, Arizona.
